The leaders of the Ravenswood community are working towards putting in every effort possible to build the foundation of the area. The construction of the Ravenswood station and the new restaurants popping into existence is great, but now the Ravenswood Community Council is taking things a step further.

The organization is now seeking to teach and promote greener practices.

The Ravenswood Community Council will kick off it “A Greener Ravenswood event this week. Local businesses and residents will be honored for participating in sustainable practices. The  Ravenswood Community Council also hopes to bring awareness to other sustainable practices that might have not been addressed.

Tickets must be purchased for the event, but the money does go towards a good cause. The proceeds for this event will be used in support of green education and the beautification of the Ravenswood area.

“A Greener Ravenswood will be held from 6pm to 8:30 pm this Thursday at Mrs. Murphy’s and Sons Irish Bistro on Lincoln Ave. Tickets are 35 dollars in advance and 40 dollars at the door.
